During this program you will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to see the possibilities offered by new technology, and how to create the best possible user experience by applying motion graphics.
After completing your studies, you can look forward to working at a web bureau or advertising agency, at a film or television company, or at an in-house production department of a traditional corporation where you will primarily be responsible for the development of digital applications and solutions using motion graphic design. The main content of this educational program deals with strategy and production within the motion graphic design field. Terms like problem-solving, personal and flexible leadership, entrepreneurship, life-long learning, and digital understanding are focused upon in each of this program’s various stages. Motion Graphics Designer offers broad general knowledge and experience of motion graphic design. If you wish you may choose to focus upon either strategy and leadership or design and production, both of course within the motion graphic industry. You will work as an apprentice during the final 16 weeks of your education. Basic facts · Full-time Yrkeshögskolan program · Location: Karlskrona (in English) · Duration: 40 weeks · Internship: 16 weeks · Points: 200 Yrkeshögkolan points (For more information about Yrkeshögskolan/the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education - click here.) Prerequisites The Motion Graphics Designer and Developer Program requires a minimum two years of industry experience or two years of previous fulltime studies within the design/interactive area. You will need to submit copies of attested documents in English or Swedish verifying this. Motion Graphics Designer and Developer is a Yrkeshögskolan program. If you apply and are accepted as an Yrkeshögskolan student, your education will be financed by Yrkeshögskolan. To do this, you must be fluent in any of the following Scandinavian languages (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Icelandic, Faeroese). The main working language within the program is English. The program starts annually in August. After completing your studies, you will be able to work in one of the following areas: Designer or Art Director within Motion Media Those students who choose to focus upon motion graphic design will be able to work as designers of motion graphics for digital products and services. This position is a vital part of teams that work with product and service development in the digital media field. Designers of motion graphics have a central role in this exciting era for digital media. Today’s techniques, internet connections, and the many experienced internet users amongst various target groups all make possible the use of motion graphic design. Designers who master 2D and 3D graphics for video, film, internet and mobile solutions are highly sought after in today’s market. As a designer within motion graphic design you can apply your competence to many areas such as internet, mobile solutions, digital television, film, film trailers, advertisements, and computer games, only to mention a few. Strategist, Project Leader, Production Manager within Motion Media Those students who choose to focus upon strategy and leadership will work as concept developers, strategists, project leaders and production managers for digital products and services where the focus is on motion graphic design. Our students are also a resource for business development within companies that work with digital media. At Hyper Island you will become very familiar with the possibilities made available by media, and you can become a motivating factor in the rapidly growing market which requires these skills. The labour market needs entrepreneurs within motion graphic design who can work with the convergence between different kinds of media.
